Mr. Sander was founded by brothers Samuel and Joseph Sander in 1940. Their enduring commitment to providing the finest quality in wood floor sanding, restoration, and repair has stood the test of time. Today, their legacy of excellent workmanship and reliable service is carried forward by co-owners Anthony Miller and Tom Glastonbury, along with the entire Mr. Sander team.

Meet the Sander Brothers
Mr. Sander® was brought to life by brothers Samuel and Joseph Sander in the heart of London in 1940. Samuel Sander was a visionary businessman with entrepreneurial spirit, while Joseph was an innovator and true craftsman, known for his refinements to existing floor restoration techniques.
The brothers were pioneers in wood flooring restoration and developed a range of specifically created, rigorously tested sanding techniques that set them apart in the industry. Their unique approach to floor restoration helped establish Mr. Sander® as a household name and the gold standard in the field.
Mr. Sander's History
The Sander brothers began their journey in London, England in 1940. They recognised a growing need for quality wood floor restoration and repair. Thus, Mr. Sander® was born on February 20, 1940. The Sander brothers revolutionised the flooring restoration industry and made London a city celebrated for its exquisite wood floors.
During WWII, Samuel and Joseph Sander utilised their skills to support the war effort, crafting and repairing wooden structures and fixtures. After the war, as London continued to grow, so did the demand for the Sander brothers' expertise. They would drive around London with their sanding equipment in their trucks, restoring the floors of grateful locals. This ingenious marketing tactic cemented Mr. Sander® as a common household name in London.
The brand has since expanded across the United Kingdom, with plans to take it international.

The Current Mr. Sander® Leadership
Anthony Miller, together with Tom Glastonbury, took the reins of Mr. Sander. Their combined passion for the craft and business acumen revitalized the brand. Miller's admiration for the quality of Mr. Sander's workmanship and Glastonbury's visionary leadership drove the duo to purchase and expand Mr. Sander® in 2014.
